Paddy Power County Antrim Senior Shield Final, 29 November 2011

Martin Donnelly's 44th-minute penalty and a late goal by sub Joe Gormley gave Cliftonville victory over Glentoran in the County Antrim Shield final.

The spot-kick decision looked a clear one for referee Colin Burns as the tricky Donnelly was brought down in the box by Ciaran Martyn.

Gormley unleashed a superb shot to make it 2-0 in the 86th minute.

Johnny Taylor forced in a late goal for Glentoran and Darren Boyce wasted a chance to equalise in stoppage-time.

The well-placed Boyce headed over from Stephen Carson's cross.

It was Cliftonville's third win over the Glens this season and it gave Tommy Breslin his first trophy as Reds manager.

Stephen Garrett was the Reds man causing most danger and he forced a number of saves from Glens keeper Elliott Morris.

Cliftonville eventually got their reward with Donnelly's penalty just before half-time.

There were not so many openings in the second half and the final remained in the balance until Gormley got to the edge of the penalty area to fire an unstoppable shot past Glens keeper Elliott Morris.

That looked to have sealed it for the north Belfast side but Taylor pulled a goal back from Gary Hamilton's ball into the area.

There were still three minutes of stoppage-time left, and Boyce had a good chance to force extra-time but headed over.

After a superb perforance, Cliftonville's Barry Johnston was awarded the Paddy Power Man of the Match.
