Linfield Ladies win PDQ Solutions County Antrim Women's Challenge Cup

Congratulations to Linfield Ladies who won the County Antrim FA Women's Cup following a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Glentoran at Newforge.
Last season Linfield won the inaugural County Antrim FA Women's Cup defeating Glentoran 4-0 and tonight Ryan McConville's team successfully defended the beautiful trophy at the same venue where the club won their first trophy last season.
Glentoran were on top in the first half and took the lead on 40 minutes when Kelly Bailie scored from a free kick from just outside the box.

Linfield were much improved in the second half and on the hour mark Kirsty McGuinness broke clear on the left and fired a stunning low, angled shot across the keeper and into the bottom far corner of the net to draw Linfield level at 1-1.

Driven on by half-time sub Sarah Venney and growing in confidence, belief and strength, Linfield went in search of the winning goal and it duly arrived with 5 minutes remaining.

From close range Kilkeel lass Nicole Graham fired into the top corner of the net to win the cup for Linfield and spark joyous celebrations on the final whistle.
